WeBarre’s First Ever Retreat at Bintan

In this post, WeBarre’s founders Anabel and Linda share why they started this retreat as an extension from WeBarre, and how we can all benefit from a retreat with the barre experience.

Why did WeBarre set up this retreat?

Wellness retreats are on the rise and the current lifestyles require us to occasionally switch off, relax, leave the planning to someone else and doing something good for your body, because that’s your best investment! Our own clients at WeBarre have been asking if we would consider holding a retreat, and when we did a taster concept on social media last year, we got many responses indicating their interest for our own retreat!

Among all other retreats with fitness, yoga and island/beach focus, what is the unique experience that sets this retreat apart?

Our number one differentiator would be barre-centered retreat. All our WeBarre class offerings are unique and will be available at the event. Yoga, bootcamp retreats are very common, but not necessarily barre. True to our own branding, we want to make this a fun, all-inclusive experience where we bring our community together, forge relationships and have a fuss-free holiday where we plan from start to end. While this is a health and fitness retreat, we don’t take ourselves too seriously so we have thrown in cocktail hour for socializing, games night and mindfulness sessions.

How prepared should guests be for this fitness retreat? Is it suitable for novices and those with no experience in barre, yoga and bootcamp?

All levels are welcome! Like I said above, don’t take yourselves too seriously and just come and have fun while staying active and eating well throughout the retreat.

Guests will be staying at The Residence, Bintan

What would you say personally to a friend who is sitting on the fence about joining this retreat?

If you haven’t taken a WeBarre class before, come try it so you can get an idea of our classes, our community and vibe with our tribe! If you’re looking for a stress-free holiday and looking to invest in your mind and body, just pack your bags and let’s go!

Share with us how the barre experience can benefit someone who is already a fitness/yoga enthusiast.

The WeBarre workout is a full body workout that challenges you from head to toe. There are strengthening and alignment principles of Pilates, the gracefulness and dynamism of Ballet movements, cardio to improve aerobic fitness, and stretches to help lengthen and lean out muscles. We work primarily on the smaller muscle groups, targeting them, working each muscle to fatigue to really see visible and tangible changes in your body. The dynamic movements (which are also important) comes in during our cardio and flow sections of the class where you challenge your coordination and cardiovascular health.
